Junior Great Books is a fun, literary lunch club for kids in grades 1 – 5. The kids read classic short stories at home (with parental help) and then join in spirited discussions over a packed lunch with trained parent volunteers. Groups usually meet once or twice a month and it’s a great way for kids to boost their confidence and critical thinking skills.
To register your student, complete the instructions sent home with your student near the beginning of the school year.
To volunteer as a group leader, please contact our Junior Great Books Chairperson at
firstname.lastname@example.org . To make this program a success, we need one leader for every six students (or at least two leaders for every grade level). We will provide training, a leader guide, a sample schedule and sample e-mails you can use to communicate with the parents of the students in your group.
